Just found out a friend from high school died last night due to an accidental drug overdose. He was found dead in his dorm room around midnight.
Why must it sometimes take death for us to realize how temporary life is?

The lesson for all of us:
Jesus in his own words told the people that real “fruit” or “evidence” of true faith will be present in one who possess GENUINE saving faith. The hypocrite or as it is referred to as the “carnal Christian” (an oxymoron in itself) will have no “real” fruit and is only fooling himself NOT GOD!
Luke 13:6-9 & 22-30
6Then he told this parable: "A man had a fig tree, planted in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any. 7So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, 'For three years now I've been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven't found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?'
8" 'Sir,' the man replied, 'leave it alone for one more year, and I'll dig around it and fertilize it. 9If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.'
The Narrow Door
22Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem. 23Someone asked him, "Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?"
He said to them, 24"Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, 'Sir, open the door for us.'
"But he will answer, 'I don't know you or where you come from.'
26"Then you will say, 'We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.'
27"But he will reply, 'I don't know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!'
28"There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. 29People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. 30Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last."

I'm down with MEANS- okay here's the deal; I checked their Myspace page and they have shows on April 25&26th in Chino and Bell (both cities are like about 10min from Anaheim)
...you down to go?? I'm all about seeing them sooner rather than later (fyi- the may show is during finals week)I haven't asked anyone else yet to see if they are interested.
ps- Means is playing with Burden of a Day and For Today- BOAD is Christian and FT definitely has Christian influence
